but what if things were different. I am going to make the assumption that if you're reading this, it's from the comfort of your own home. or a starbucks, or maybe a library. either way, it's in comfort.
did you know that 1 in 6 of americans suffer from hunger. in 2009, 24.7 million people between the ages of 18-64 lived in poverty. and the worst part: 17 million children live where food is never a guarantee.
still comfy?
I should mention first that it's ok if you answered yes. you should be. God has blessed you with a home, a job, a family, friends, and the ability to eat when you want.
He has also given you the ability to share your blessings, to give to those in need.
are you aware that if everyone in the world gave a $1 there would be no more hunger (those who can)...and heavens knows what would happen if we'd give $5.
that should make you uncomfortable.
I'm so blessed by all these Godly women I've met through blogging, and especially by this beautiful woman. Melanie is over at Only a Breath. she's a wife, mommy, blogger, and a huge inspiration. she along with so a couple other women have come up with a virtual food drive. amazing right? she's paired with some pretty incredible women, like Ms Sydney, who hangs around here some times :). I'm so inspired by what they're doing that without a doubt I needed to get involved.
they've paired with Feeding America. the nations leading domestic hunger relief charity. they get together with local and national organizations, and people, to come up with ideas on how to spread the hunger awareness, but also help them in the fight to cease it.

incredible right?
please please please donate anything you can.
I pray that God will give us all the ability to do so.
I can't stress enough how important I think helping those in our own backyards. God needs us to help those here in america just as much as the little children in africa.
so take some time, pray for God to lay on your heart some kind of action to take. I hope you'll join us in the fight against hunger here in america!
and if you are able, please visit compassion internationals website. you won't regret it I promise.
2 Corinthians 9:7
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

It is so important to think of those less fortunate than yourselves. In the blink of an eye, you could be one of those people.

What a wonderful message! Right now, I'm scraping for grocery money, but once things even out, I am going to donate!
