He makes all things new

God makes a lot of promises to us.
All of them are amazing promises that not a single one of us can make to another human being, but as God He can not only make those promises but keep them.

One of my favorites is: I can make all things new (Revelation 21:5).

New:
1. but now come into knowledge
2. coming or occurring afresh
3. fresh or unused

I love these definitions so much because it emphasizes this promise.

When you decided the greatest decision of your life, God promises to make you fresh. He promises to use the part of us that has never been used before. The part that we didn't even know existed.
Think about how life was before you accepted Him as your Savior.
Empty, no meaning, was there always 'something missing?'

God takes us and puts Himself in the middle of it all.

He takes us, old and crummy and makes us brand new, dancing in His light.
A change occurs, we are created to be new people. To be different. To find the things in life (like Him) that mean the most. To have more open hearts, to be kinder to people. To have trust worthy relationships. To serve and give more.

There aren't many things in our lives that we can count on to make it 'all better', and to wash it all away.
Unfortunately, no human can do that.
Fortunately, the Creator of the Heavens can.
God takes our sin and washes it away. He washes away every pain we have, every insecurity we have, anything that stands in the way of us being like Christ.

I am made new by God.
That's wonderful news.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

I love this verse. It's so simple and to the point.
When I think about being made new this verse comes to mind, because it makes me so joyful to know that God loves me so much that He wants me to be a child of His. He wants me to know that this life is a gift and so worth living.

Be blessed in knowing you're new!

Your sister in Christ,
Meg
